Scala dei Turchi & a wonderful few days

Rob is on leave this week! It has been so nice to have some family time these last few days. Lately it's been easy to get a bit overwhelmed but this week I am feeling thankful & refreshed. I have been reading John daily on my Bible app while rocking Carleigh during her morning naps & that has also touched my heart & helped me to feel closer to Jesus. And walks along the Mediterranean are always good for the soul!

Yesterday, we went with some friends to Scala dei Turchi (the Turkish Steps) near Agrigento. It was a 2 hour drive to a beautiful beach & awesome rocks that make up the steps. According to a few sites, like this one, the name came from the belief that Turkish pirates used the area as a landing place.

This was the first time I carried Carleigh in the carrier on my back. I wore her & Rob wore a back pack so we were hands-free & able to take pictures & climb the rocks. I love our carrier (it's similar to this.) We also played in the water and looked for fish & crabs. We all had a blast!

After a few hours of fun, we stopped at a great beach restaurant. We sat on the sandy deck & enjoyed some fruit & pasta before heading home. What a wonderful day!

Our friend Danny is a photographer. Some of the great photos he captured are on the DOE Photography facebook page.
